Paul Lawton for Northcrest

Safe neighbourhoods. Responsible spending.

Northcrest resident, husband, and father of nine. I believe public office is a responsibility, not a privilege. I want to serve Northcrest with integrity, responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and practical concern for families and neighbourhoods.

Why I'm Running

Peterborough has been a great place to raise our family, and we want to see it remain a safe and thriving city for the next generation. We want our children to grow up in safe neighbourhoods, enjoy well-maintained parks and public spaces, and have the opportunity to build their own lives here one day.

Northcrest is a wonderful place to live, but many residents are concerned about public safety, rising costs, homelessness, infrastructure, and the direction of City Hall.

I believe City Hall should focus on its core responsibilities: keeping neighbourhoods safe, maintaining roads and infrastructure, managing taxpayer dollars responsibly, and supporting the conditions that allow families and communities to flourish.

Serving on Council means listening carefully, spending taxpayer dollars wisely, and making decisions that strengthen families, neighbourhoods, and our community.

I am running because Northcrest deserves thoughtful leadership, responsible spending, and safe neighbourhoods.

Priorities

Safe neighbourhoods

Residents should feel safe in their homes, on neighbourhood streets, in parks, on trails, and in public spaces.

Responsible spending

City Hall should focus on core services, carefully weigh spending decisions, and respect taxpayers.

Roads and infrastructure

City Hall should maintain roads, sidewalks, infrastructure, and basic city services responsibly and plan for long-term needs.

Supporting Families and Neighbourhoods

Strong communities begin with strong families. City Hall should support the conditions that allow families, churches, volunteers, and local organizations to thrive.
